While visiting Peru and Bolivia we also traveled through the Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flat. The salar is famous for its featureless white salt stretching to the horizon, but the lagoons further south are also home to a large flamingo population.
The blue-red gradient of the lagoons provides a fantastic backdrop for the bright pink of the flamingo, indicating a well-fed and healthy specimen.
